About the Theatre

The Basildon group was started in 2009 at The Towngate Theatre. Basildon was RARE’s first area in Essex and has always been a very popular area with some of RARE’s busiest auditions.

We began with the classic Rock n Roll musical Little Shop Of Horrors.

Since then we have produced many fine shows including Hairspray, Oliver and Fame.
