Office Staff
David read law at university but decided to pursue a career in performing arts. He trained for two years at the Court Theatre Training Company. After training David was a professional Actor/Musician with shows ranging from National Tours (Jane Eyre, Emma, She Stoops to Conquer) to local pantomimes (Jack and the Beanstalk, Gordon Craig, Stevenage). David formed RARE Productions with Andy Burton in 2003 and is the company’s senior musical director and Producer of all productions. David’s past work includes, Oklahoma (Assistant MD), Three Penny Opera (MD), Caucasian Chalk Circle (MD), Guys and Dolls (MD), Annie (MD), Bugsy Malone (MD), Little Shop of Horrors (MD), Oliver! (MD) and Summer Holiday (MD).
Lyndal joined RARE Productions full-time in January 2010 after being a volunteer backstage helper for three years. Initially her role was split between the Wardrobe Dept and Admin however, as the company grew over the following few years, she handed Wardrobe to the professionals so she could concentrate on admin and is now our Office Manager. During her time in Wardrobe, she helped develop the costumes for many shows and was part of the team which took 100 RARE cast members to the O2 in October 2010 to be part of the ‘Les Miserables 25th Anniversary Concert’. Lyndal regularly attends productions in all our areas and still enjoys helping backstage whenever possible.
Sinead trained at East 15 Acting School and after graduating she worked professionally as a performer touring Germany, the UK and Ireland working with children and young people. Other work includes Assistant Director at Trestle Arts Base on a touring production. Sinead joined our production staff as show director in 2013 and has since gone onto direct over 40 shows for RARE across several theatres including RARE’s first productions of West Side Story, Hairspray and most recently The Sound of Music. She has also been the producer for three of RARE’s West End variety shows at the Adelphi, Phoenix and Palace Theatres in London. In 2014 Sinead became a full time Producer for RARE and continues to direct shows alongside working at RARE HQ.
Cameron is an accomplished pianist and percussionist. He started performing with RARE a decade ago, playing Orin Scrivello in ‘Little Shop of Horrors’. He went on to play many leading roles, including Warbucks in ‘Annie’, Nathan Detroit in ‘Guy’s & Dolls’, and a memorable Jean Valjean in several productions of ‘Les Miserables’. As well as performances with RARE, Cameron has enjoyed leading roles in ‘The Mikado’, ‘Crazy For You’, and ‘Carousel’, with amateur companies. He has performed at the Royal Albert Hall in ‘Carmen’, and was part of the 25th Anniversary of ‘Les Miserables’ at the 02 with RARE. Cameron joined the RARE team in 2013, and has since Musical Directed over 60 shows. He has been a full time member of staff for over 3 years, and produces all of RARE’s show programmes, across 50 plus shows a year.
Emma joined the RARE team in May 2017 as a Marketing & PR Assistant. Being tasked with publicising over 50 shows and 100 audition dates a year is no small feat, and advertising these to members both old and new up and down the country has its challenges! In 2019, with the ever growing number of shows, Emma was promoted to a supervisory role, where she oversees a number of different projects including RARE’s new professional pantomime in Milton Keynes. Outside of RARE Emma is a keen runner, and in 2019 she completed the London Marathon, raising over £1,000 for Cancer Research UK.
Kerry joined the RARE team in September 2019. Kerry has been in a variety of RARE Productions shows since she was eight years old in which she has played many main roles such as Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz, Annie in Annie and Oliver in Oliver. She has achieved qualifications in music and performing arts, passing her grade 8 classical singing with merit and passing dance exams in a variety of styles. Kerry has also enjoyed participating in other amateur performances including ‘Stars In the Round’ at the Royal Albert Hall, ‘Voice in a Million’ at the O2 as well as RARE’s 10th Anniversary Gala Performance at Her Majesty’s Theatre in London.
Sam trained at the Mountview Academy of Performing Arts studying Production Arts/Technical Theatre. He has previously worked in the West End crewing for “Mamma Mia” and “Uncle Vanya”. Sam has always had a passion for theatre and has performed a range of parts for RARE over the last few years, including; Nick in “Fame”, Warbucks & Rooster in “Annie”, and Corny Collins in “Hairspray”. Sam joined our Artistic team earlier this year, and made his directional debut with “West Side Story.”
Show Directors
Straight after graduating in Musical Theatre Performance from the Studio International in 2013 (Paris), Adam started working as an actor, and was lucky enough to join the casts of the musicals Hercule Dans Une Histoire A La Grecque (2013), Twins, Le Musical (2013), as well as the French production of Pasek and Paul's Edges: A Song Cycle (2013). Other notable credits include: Lisandro Nesis’ Broadway Au Carré sessions, Romeo4Juliet (2017), and My Life Is A Musical (2017).
Over the past 7 years, Adam has also provided artistic direction and vocal coaching to multiple productions, such as Musicals2Gether (2012), Radio Caroline (2018-2019), and Le Panache de Cyrano (2019-2020).
Additionally, Adam joined the writing workshop Book Music & Lyrics in 2019 as a librettist, and is the author of the musical The Reflection Of Peter Pan, the song cycle Nothing But A Phase, and the French adaptation of Soho Cinders.
Rebecca graduated from the University of Leeds with a BA (Hons) Degree in Drama. After working within professional theatre and arts development for several years she completed her PGCE in Drama and became a teacher in 2008. She has since worked as both a Director of Learning and Head of Drama at St. Albans Girls’ School and now joins RARE Productions as a Show Director.
Daisy trained at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, where she gained her degree in Musical Theatre and, shortly after graduating, was invited to perform in the Help For Heroes concert at the Dominion Theatre. Following this she was lucky enough to sing with Alfie Boe and Katie Melua for Her Majesty The Queen in the Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall. More recently Daisy both appeared in and musically directed a workshop musical called Richard The First, and continues to sing in theatres around London's West End. She also teaches singing and piano privately.
Georgia’s involvement with RARE Productions began in 2014 as a principal dancer in Grease (Grove Theatre Dunstable) and then went on to play Iris Kelly in Fame the following year. After graduating with a BA Hons in Musical Theatre from London College of Music, Georgia proudly joined the Musical Direction team in Wewlyn Garden City, so far musically directing Wizard of Oz, High School Musical and Annie.
Georgia is privileged to be going back to her roots at the Grove Theatre Dunstable in her first Directors role for Bugsy Malone.
Georgia has enjoyed performing in many shows in her life most recently taking part with the Bedfordshire Youth Opera.
Holly has been working in the performance industry for over a decade, both on and off stage. She's taken part in various films, musicals, plays and tours over the years, her favourite being Grease where she had the chance to play Rizzo. Holly has been directing for Rare Productions for over a year now, acting as Area-Co-ordinator for Newbury, Reading and Windsor to help give young people the chance to perform on some great stages. She has previously directed, produced and choreographed for a number of theatre groups in Newbury, fitting it all around performing herself and making her life as creative as possible.
James completed his training at the University of Northampton with a BA (Hons) in Theatre Studies. He has since gone on to perform in venues all over the country in professional productions ranging from pantomimes to musicals. His directing credits include: Return to the Forbidden Planet, Multiplex, Hamlet the Musical, Wind in the Willows, and The Black Remote (National Theatre, Connections Festival). His acting credits include: Dick Whittington, Cinderella, Les Miserables, Robin Hood, Return to the Forbidden Planet and Hamlet. From performing to directing, James has continued his desire to entertain and create exciting performances with all the young performers at RARE Productions.
Joe joined RARE as a cast member at Basildon in 2009. Since then he has performed in many shows at the Towngate Theatre, playing lead characters in shows such as: Edna in Hairspray, Warbucks in Annie, Lion in Wizard of Oz, and Seymour in Little Shop of Horrors. Joe has a National Diploma in Acting, after studying Performing Arts at college. During his time at college, he had the opportunity to perform in shows across Essex, including a performance of community opera "Ludd & Isis" with the Royal Opera House. Following his 6 years as a cast member at RARE, Joe joined the production staff as show director in 2015. He opened the Thurrock area in 2014 as a performer and a year later took over the director’s role. Since then he has directed shows including Fame and Oliver. Joe has a passion for performing and directing shows to the highest possible standard, whilst creating an enjoyable experience for each and every cast member along the way.
Kensey is a 2019 graduate of The University of Chichester's Music and Musical Theatre course. She has performed in many different musicals and theatres and has a huge passion for directing and music. After performing in RARE's productions as a youth she has now joined the team as a director and musical director. Her directors credits include shows such Bugsy Malone, Oliver and Annie. Kensey loves singing and spends her spare time performing in many different venues. She has a true passion for musical theatre and jazz music, and hopes to be involved in the arts in as many ways as she can in the future.
Shaine was previously a RARE cast member, gaining roles such as Tracy in Hairspray and Miss Hannigan in Annie, before joining the team as a director.Shaine graduated from drama school in 2018, gaining a BA Hons in Acting and has since worked on a number of short films and plays. Throughout her time at drama school, she received training in units such as devising, musical theatre, voice over, film and TV, vocal health and control, and movement studies and development. She also most notably played the role of Hermia in A Midsummer Night's Dream.Shaine feels passionately about teaching and developing performance skills alongside directing, and aims to direct shows to the highest possible standard.Shaine is currently working towards a career in Film and TV and theatre.

Tom trained in method acting and received a BA (Hons) in Acting from Wessex Academy of performing arts in 2009. Since then he has been working as a professional actor on stage and screen and has gained extensive experience in films, theatre tours, live events and radio work. As a Director, he has worked on a variety of short films, two Edinburgh Fringe shows, pantomimes and episodes of the award winning series ‘Liquid Soap’. He has performed in many lead roles for RARE over the past 5 years, and joined the company as a Show Director at the start of the 2014/2015 season.
From her first steps in Yorkshire, Trish has been singing & dancing nearly all her life and, after moving to London, she has performed in shows at Wimbledon, Ashcroft, Gordon Craig, Watford Palace and Pendley Court Theatres, as well as on tour with the amateur premiere of La Cage aux Folles in Germany.
Married to Tony with two sons, Trish is a Pilates and Keep It Moving! Fitness Teacher and regularly performs, directs and choreographs with other companies.
She is delighted to have been given the opportunity to direct for Rare Productions and looks forward to many more!

Chantelle Simons began her training for 18 years in dance schools and stage school, whilst performing in a variety of shows in dance and Musical theatre. She graduated from the British and Irish Modern Music institute London with a BA Hons Degree in Songwriting in 2017 (with core modules in music Pedagogy, composition and music theory). She has performed in shows for many years from companies similar to Rare such as a production of Joseph and Grease, and SYP's productions of Wizard of Oz, Annie and Peterpan. Chantelle took a Diploma in Music theatre (voice) Grade 8 under LCM to continue her training and set up her own private singing tutoring. She is also the current Singing teacher of 2 years at the Dean Academy of Performing Arts. Chantelle is delighted to join Rare Productions as the new singing teacher

Georgia has shown an interest in singing from a very young age which led to her having singing lessons, taking grades 2-8, and singing with various choirs. She was part of the Northamptonshire Music and Performing Arts Choir system for 9 years which has given her many opportunities to solo with numerous groups at many amazing different venues including The Royal Albert Hall. Georgia is currently studying Musical Theatre at Northampton College where her knowledge for singing is continuing to grow. Although a student herself, she has been teaching independently for the past 4 years, something that she loves and hopes to continue doing.

I graduated from the University of Chichester in 2018 with a degree in Musical Theatre and Acting for Film. I have always had a passion for Musical Theatre, so when I left University, I was eager to start working within the industry. I was lucky enough to be represented by an agency soon after I graduated, after spending a year working and auditioning, I wanted to explore different aspects of the industry. I first got involved with RARE when I was offered the role of Rizzo in Grease, after this experience I fell in love with the company and wanted to become more involved. Being a Musical Director is a remarkable and rewarding experience and this is what encouraged me into a career in teaching the arts, as a Drama teacher. Life can be hectic, but I love every second.
Hanna Marie trained in Dance and Musical Theatre at Stella Mann College and graduated with Distinction in 2015. Hanna’s first professional credit was a Lead Vocalist on Cruise ship MV Voyager for Entertainment connect, she has since gone on to work on P&O ferries as a singer/dancer and performed in a Top40 style band in the middle east and danced in a prestigious awards ceremony in India. Other credits include; Wendla Bergman -Spring Awakening, Mimi – Rent, Young Phyllis – Follies and Nancy – Oliver.
Hanna has since gone on to teach after school drama clubs, hen parties and to choreograph workshops and shows, working for ‘BOO Theatre and Entertainment’, Stage Coach, Act Now, Stage Arts, RARE Productions and Bounce Studios. Working across London, Hertfordshire and Essex.
Hanna Marie is also a company Director of Overture Performing Arts based in St.Albans, as well as co-running the company she also teaches dance and singing as well as choreographing and musically directing their yearly musicals and summer showcase.
At the age of 7, Jonny was appointed as a chorister at St Paul’s Cathedral and was part of many recordings and broadcasts on television and radio, including the Queen’s Jubilee, the Queen Mother’s Memorial Service and The Proms. He then gained a music scholarship to Haileybury School in Hertford. As well as classical and choral performance, Jonny performed in musical theatre both at school and with RARE Productions, with whom he now works as a Musical Director. He gained a choral scholarship to Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance and graduated with an honours degree in July 2014. A highly accomplished pianist, violinist and saxophonist, Jonny can also be seen in venues around the home counties, playing and singing his arrangements of many jazz classics.
A keen musician and performer, Kim’s involvement with RARE began when she played Rizzo in a production of GREASE in 2014 (Lighthouse Theatre, Kettering). She then went on to play other major roles in different areas, before being invited to join the RARE Musical Direction team, and has had the privilege of Musical Directing many shows since. These include Les Miserables, Bugsy Malone, High School Musical, Fame, Annie, Oliver, Hairspray and many more. Kim has many years of musical experience, ranging from fronting a rock/pop band at weddings and events, to singing in a choir at Westminster Abbey. She also performs as part of our live bands on Keys and Drums.
Choreographers
Dance has been part of Alison’s life from the age of four, initially as a hobby but in 2009 she created abDance offering dance tuition to schools, nurseries and community groups across Leicester/shire.Her teaching qualifications were taken with the IDTA in ballet, tap, theatre craft, freestyle and dance exercise, she is also a Zumba instructor and a Funky Feet Music Licensee.Alison joined the am dram scene in Leicester with the IDOLS initially as Dance Captain for ‘Singin’ In The Rain’ and then as Choreographer for ‘Musical Scrapbook’, ‘Annie’, ‘Little Shop Of Horrors’ and ‘Oliver!’. In 2016 she choreographed for LDS’s annual pantomime ‘Sleeping Beauty’.She also teaches at the Emily Redding Dance Academy (Oakham), and runs Baby Discos and Showstoppers school holiday clubs.Alison is really excited to join the RARE Productions team and can’t wait to get started on ‘Hairspray’.
Ciara started dancing at the age of 3 and trained in a variety of dance styles. She also attended Urdang’s Youth Academy and now regularly trains at the Pineapple dance studios in London. Ciara started performing with RARE Productions in 2013 as a dancer in High School Musical and has since been in many shows as a dancer, dance captain and also Cha Cha in Grease. She has also performed as part of the ensemble in professional pantomimes. Ciara hopes to continue performing while also pursuing her love for teaching.
Emily started dancing at the age of 3, and over the years she has trained in Ballet, Jazz, Modern, Tap, Contempary, Pas De Deux, Commercial, Musical Theatre, Singing and Drama. At 16 she went on to study dance at Bodywork Company, Cambridge Performing Arts. She then continued her training at The Urdang Academy and graduated in 2010 with a National Diploma in Professional Dance. Since graduating Emily has returned from her 1st summer season in Turkey as a professional dancer, and now continues to audition for more professional dance work. Emily joined RARE productions in the spring of 2012 as a choreographer.

Helen is thrilled to join the RARE family following a successful career in the theatre as a musical theatre performer. Helen trained from a young age and has travelled the world as a singer and dancer on cruise ships for many years. On her return to England to start a family, she is now a teacher of musical theatre, dance, drama and singing. Alongside her teaching, Helen has a huge passion for choreography and has numerous choreography credits including musical theatre shows such as Oliver, Hairspray, Annie and Grease, pantomimes and National Theatre connections entries. Helen can often be found singing in children’s wards of hospitals, retirement homes and local community events alongside her daytime teaching of toddlers, children and adults all over the county.
Jasmine trained in musical theatre at Performers College where she graduated in 2019. Over Christmas 2018 Jasmine was a principal dancer in Sleeping Beauty Pantomime for UK Productions where she understudied Carabosse, the evil fairy. During college Jasmine played 'Mrs Mears' in Thoroughly Modern Millie, 'Soupy Sue' in Urinetown and Andrew Gomez and various others in The Laramie Project as well as being featured in the colleges annual summer shows. Prior to this she started her professional training at Evolution Foundation College, and was a former member of the UKs best known song and dance troupe, West End Kids where she performed all across the country at various venues including; West End Live, Move it, The Royal Albert Hall and many more. Jasmine is a qualified a ISTD dance teacher, completing DDI training in Tap and Modern. Jasmine is excited to be starting her choreography journey with Rare Productions.
Jennifer trained professionally at Reynolds Performing Arts Academy, majoring in Dance/Musical Theatre 2005-2008. Since graduating she has worked extensively at home and overseas, and joined RARE as a choreographer in 2013 and has worked on hugely dance based shows including ‘High School Musical’, ‘West Side Story’ and ‘Fame’. She also runs Calverley Dance Studios as well as teaching and choreographing for several different dance agencies.
Lesley-Ann attended the Palmerstone Stage School in Ilford where she gained her teaching qualification. Lesley-Ann has been teaching for over 15 years, she is an associate member of the NATD teaching Ballet, tap, Modern, Musical Theatre and Festival work, and has been Principal of her own Dancing School. Her pupils have obtained a great success in Dance Competitions, culminating in pupils reaching “The All England Dance Finals”. Past pupils have appeared in The West End, Pantomimes and on Cruise Ships. Lesley-Ann has appeared in Grease with Letitia Dean (Sharon in Eastenders), The King & I, and Pippin (Regional Tours), as well as in Pantomimes as a dancer. Lesley-Ann is currently studying to take her Licentiate and Fellowship to become an Examiner.
Louise joined RARE as Choreographer in February 2014 after coming from a performing background since 4 years old, with credits including "Pandora's Box", "Sleeping Beauty", "The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie", "The Wizard of Oz", and "Sweet Charity" to name a few.After studying Musical Theatre at Northampton College in 2011, Louise has since delivered dance workshops at local youth groups, performed the Can-Can at events, and currently teaches Dance and Drama at Primary and Secondary Schools.
Paige started performing from the age of 8 taking classes in Acting, Musical Theatre, Ballet, Tap, Modern, Jazz and LAMDA examination classes. During this time she was fortunate to gain experience by performing in musicals with various youth production companies including RARE productions in their Basildon Area.
At the age of 17 Paige was lucky enough to gain a place at The Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts on their Performing Arts Intensive Course. During her time she studied with the industries top teachers and she continues to use her knowledge in her current teaching jobs. Paige went on to graduate in July 2014.
In 2017 Paige was given the opportunity to become a choreographer for RARE in Thurrock. Since being with Thurrock she has choreographed Peter Pan, High School Musical, Annie, Hairspray and Wizard of Oz.
Sarah trained in Professional Musical Theatre at Millennium Performing Arts, London. After graduating she began teaching and choreographing dance at various primary, secondary and theatre schools around Berkshire. She had the opportunity to work for 3 months in New York as an Assistant Choreographer and Dance Teacher at the renowned Stagedoor Manor Performing Arts Training Center.She is currently a secondary school dance teacher, the contemporary dance tutor at Read College in Reading for the vocational foundation course and sixth form students, choreographer for Rare Productions in Newbury, as well as teaching for Stagecoach Abingdon. Sarah is also the Artistic Director of West Berkshire Youth Dance Company, a company to develop talented youth dancers in training at a professional level.Sarah gained a BA Hons Musical Theatre Degree from Laine Theatre Arts in 2018 and QTS in 2019.
Sophie has been dancing since she was 3 and over the years she has trained and taken exams in Ballet, Contemporary, Modern, Jazz, Tap and Drama. In 2014 she started training at London Studio Centre where she had many performance opportunities including a UK tour with Intoto, the Contemporary Dance Company, in her 3rd year. She graduated with a BA Hons in Theatre Dance and then began to start her teaching career as a freelancer while studying for a Level 6 Diploma in Dance Teaching. Since securing her qualifications and a Registered Teaching Status with the British Ballet Organisation, she now teaches for a few companies while also finally pursuing her dream of teaching at her own dance school. She has been a Choreographer for Rare Productions since 2017.
Zehra completed her dance training in the London Stage School and went on to work as a choreographer/performer abroad in a number of different countries. She is trained in various types of dance including: Commercial, Afro, Jazz, Latin-American, Street and Ballet. She has completed many ISTD medals, taken part in many pantomimes and previous Rare shows as a principle dancer, now she is working as one of our choreographers. Zehra’s love for dance and choreography continues as she remains consistent with progressing forwards.
Creative & Technical Team
Matt’s first professional job within theatre was in 2006 as Lighting Operator on ‘Beauty and the Beast’ at the Gordon Craig Theatre, Stevenage. Following that Matt went on to freelancing and spent a lot of his time working at the Campus West Theatre in Welwyn Garden City. In 2009 Matt started working with RARE Productions, initially as a lighting designer and then moving to the position of Technical Manager. During his time at RARE Matt has been the Lighting Designer for countless productions all around the UK. In 2010 Matt was lucky enough to be a chap- erone at the O2 Arena for the 25th Anniversary Concert of ‘Les Misérables’. Whilst at RARE Matt has been the Stage Manager for productions in venues all around the UK including Her Majesty’s, The Palace and The Phoenix Theatres within London’s West End.
Amber graduated Hull University with a B.A (Hons) degree in Drama & Theatre Practice, specializing in costume, in 2014. While studying, she acted as Costume Supervisor, Designer, As- sistant and Maker on multiple different productions at the Don- ald Roy Theatre, including ‘Light in the Piazza’ and an original production, ‘Around the World Cabaret’, performed in aide of Cancer Research.
Since graduating, she has acted as a costume daily on a York- shire Tea advert and a costume trainee for ITV’s period drama series ‘Jericho’, before joining RARE Productions Wardrobe De- partment as the Costume Assistant in 2016.
Amber fits and supervises all 50 RARE shows throughout the year, while also making and creating costumes for new shows. Amber loved creating the two previous RARE Pantomimes, ‘Beauty and the Beast’ (2016), ‘Snow White’ (2017) and Aladdin (2018)
Gloucestershire for three years where he learnt numerous skills recording, producing and writing music. After university An- drew spent some time as a freelance audio/visual engineer working at such establishments as RIBA and London Zoo, were he would organise and run sound for important lectures and panels. As well as this Andrew would spend time working with musicians recording and producing music. This is Andrews first year with RARE Productions where he has worked on shows in- cluding Bugsy Malone, West Side Story, Oliver and many more however this is his first year as the sound engineer for panto.
